Inspection of lifting tackle

Function of all controls and main components

Complete daily pre-operational checks

Site safety which includes other site personnel and vehicles (be aware of overhead obstructions)

Carry out load safety checks i.e. weight, size, location and lifting points

Liaise with banksman/slinger to access lifting operation and agree signal code

Carry out various lifts using a variety of lifting tackle

Park crane safety in designated area, hook raised fully. No loads on hook. Switch off at main isolator switch. Check for any defects
Course duration 1-3 days depending on number of trainees on course and their experience.
